Doug DeHaven Update 10/16/2022 Cab interior and doors now blasted!
Slow process, bit got all the old paint and rust off, one a few spots of thin metal, not as bad as I was expecting it to be. Blasting the backside of the dash, was like washing a spoon, sand went everywhere! Now to get everything into primer.
While I had the blaster out, I fixed the broken air gauge on it, so now I can see when the pressure starts to run low! Doors also pulled and cleaned up.
Got the door handles pulled, that was an adventure! and got all the old weather stripping rubber ground off and everything down to just metal. Next big step will be the blast the outside of the cab!
UPDATE: 10/23/2022 Got the cab blasted, and had a helper in the shop with the blasting! Took about 10 hours of solid blasting.
Next step, I will have to teach myself how to use a spray gun and get some primer on the cab and doors!
I am sooooo excited this is finally happening!
Course, now I am down. So, I’ll be following along best I can.
