Doug DeHaven This was the failed in tank check valve from a large 25HP Champion air compressor.
I pulled the valve and cleaned it up, here is how it looked fresh from the pull.
Next was a trip to the sand blaster.
The blasting process works great at removing the scale, but the finish is lacking. Next trip is to the wire wheels than the polishing wheel to give it a nice shine!
What a difference!
Now will make for a nice conversation piece in the collection.
